The building 29, rue de l Arcade is wise, haussmannian facade high on a main artery that connects The Madeleine to Saint-Lazare train station. The hotel is hidden behind, a little less. In the same family for two generations and the 70’s, the Royal Madeleine has just undergone a total renovation that accompanies a rise in range of this hotel, very parisian in the soul.
The set is rather successful. 49 rooms, including ours (no. 603) duplex on the sixth and last floor with a small seating area, a beautiful staircase with wrought iron railing leads to a mezzanine on which it was laid, facing the bed, and a bath. Very on-trend. Two small display cases locked welcome a few decorative objects and books under lock and key to which access is being withheld…. Damage. See yes, but touching, no. The minibar (free of charge) bears its name well: just the place for a beer, two bottles of water and a chocolate bar. On the wall, prints and patterned wallpaper trompe-l’œil, in a all cream, add to the clarity of the piece. Perfect lighting because even in being composed of multiple lamps, a single button and everything turns off.

It is in the basement that nestles a small madness: the beautiful swimming pool covered with a mirror is a little gem complete with a sauna mixed extra large version. The spirit cocooning, wanted by Marie Paule Clout (the young decorator sign his first hotel), is the appointment of this institution, which is defined by a formula very common “at home”.
At a closer look, the place has no shortage of fantasy. Reflected in the restaurant at lunch that transforms into a cocktail bar rather young and trendy in the evening, our favorite. At the helm, a talented thirty-year-old, Julien Trollet, is not at his first attempt. It has bars in Paris at Pigalle, The toss of a coin, most famous of all. His brother Roman, the head of the hotel group’s Assas-hotels ensures to him the management of the institution. Family when you hold us….
