8,5 /10-glance

The Pullman Paris Bercy, building of transparent glass and light, just delivered its all-new décor, warm and trendy, signed by the british Tom Dixon. Cosmopolitan and lively, the hotel is an agora which blends an international clientele for which one has broken the codes of the traditional hotel business. No desk, a bar that melts into the lobby, a spa new generation with a barber, a shop without a wall at the entrance… The management of space is blowing a wind of modernity on this flagship of the Accor group which reserve nice surprises.

9/10 The situation

At the end of the village de Bercy, a corner of Paris, very singular, where the old cellars of the market in wine is welcome in shops and restaurants trend. It oscillates between the anonymity of the midtown business district and intimacy full of charm, almost provincial. The hotel borders the road on the banks which lead to the device, and dominates the river Seine, immutable and silent. The automatic line 14, the most beautiful of the paris metro, the Gare de Lyon has two stations and the Madeleine in ten minutes. Ideal.

9/10 the spirit of The place

It is full of ideas. In the lobby, one is greeted by two desks blonde wood, thick and heavy, covered with a brown marble, on which was fun to accouder. A bit like you would in a conversation with a friend. The concept store, very parisian, “Address”, has here a corner and offers the sale of tech items arranged on tables. Seating fabric are velvety raised here and there and make you want to ask. Real ping-pong tables, transformable into office, meeting, occupy another part of space. And cabins which are reminiscent of those of the trains to Pullman, luxuriously equipped with a bench in velvet, allow to isolate. It is here in the heart of a kind of agora, directed by the very talented british designer Tom Dixon. The former artistic director of the Ikea sign here, in France, his first hotel.

7/10 The rooms

The number of 392, all very clear with, on the upper floors, exceptional views, they are big on chic design. 9 junior suites, 10 suites and 1 presidential suite of 100 M2, add a small touch of extravagance to the place. Ours, no. 920, a wall of large glass doors opening on some of the icons of paris: the Montparnasse Tower, Notre-Dame, the dome of the Pantheon and the Eiffel Tower. The comfort of the rooms is total. Alternately, note the pillows hard, which are in addition to the other softer for a better seat when, for example, working in its bed, king-size bedding with pillow-top mattresses, an armchair in white leather and removable so comfortable that it was hard to get up, the door handles and heavy chrome, bathrobes, high-pass, Canal + (more and more rare in the five-star hotels), excellent Sothys products in the bathroom. Everything here is very successful with two exceptions: an air-conditioning hums and the hum of the traffic as a real soundproofing is not able completely to silence.

The decor of the restaurant deserves a little more heat, but they serve, in a plate, put from short circuits with producers handpicked. At the bar, rain of cocktails accompanied by tapas. Special Mention for the tomato juice made with four different fruits. Fans will appreciate!

7/10 The service, equipment

Nothing looks less like a spa that the space Pamper Bar, next to the lobby, to mix in a same place, a bar, a corner reserved for the barber shop, another a manicure and a third in the back massage. The atypical space with beautiful benches, has been signed by Sothys. “This is the first hotel spa in the capital that we design completely”, explained to the Figaro its president Christian Mas. Featuring a swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a treatment room, it is also one of the most beautiful of Paris.

Another strength of the hotel, a cinema with 20 seats (a rarity in Paris), available exclusively on privatization, equipped by MK2 is the flagship of the technology (Surround 7.1).

But the true service, it is also the smile of Harold that you monte your breakfast, Lise welcomes you in the lobby, or Lea that serves you a drink… When we retain the names it is rather a good sign!

10/10 for The report quality-price

It is excellent, for 200 € (the lowest) to 350 € the price the highest for a room (not Suite). The comfort of the rooms, the quality of the service and the accessibility of the hotel are to be taken into account.
