The concept of well-being creeps in now in many of the new projects city-dwellers. Exit the open spaces to carpeted floor grey instead of places to live and work. After a first address open in 2017 rue du Château-d’eau (Xe), the two founders of Deskopolitan go top speed with a new site of 6 000 m2 in the quartier Voltaire.

The concept

With the emblem of the hummingbird (symbol of dexterity), Deskopolitan is a company that wants to be innovative, “offering the essential ingredients to the success and vitality: calm, comfort, and new services”. With this second project, the young entrepreneurs Paul Chevrillon and Alexis Rebiffé have the intention of putting into practice their philosophy.

A campus, hybrid and green

The façade of the imposing facade haussmanienne, we can read “Cusenier”, the name of the old distillery, which occupied the premises at the end of the Nineteenth century. But once past the porch, it’s another world that opens onto the courtyard garden. The complex bottom of the 1960s, fully rehabilitated by the agency Franklin Azzi Architecture (in particular, Beaupassage, Seventh), is divided into several modules separated by spaces-vegetated. Everywhere, natural light and greenery are preferred. Inside, the agency’s English-MoreySmith has chosen the simplicity of a furniture yellow and grey.

Nursery, barber shop, hotel and speakeasy

More than a place of work of 350 posts (that can accommodate from 4 to 45 people depending on the module), Deskopolitan also offers a small hotel of 14 rooms, simple and functional, with warm colors (165 € per night). As well as a creche in 13 cradles operated by the House of Kangaroo is open to residents of the neighbourhood. The place also has a forum in the bleachers, a speakeasy in the former strong room, a recording studio, radio and even a barber shop. And in the basement, Episod, the gym of 1 000 m2 already fulfils her yoga practice.

The garden restaurant

More than trivial, the vegetable garden is planted with aromatic herbs, salads, strawberries, raspberries… that should soon grace the dishes of the cafeteria of the 70 seats on the terrace, 30 covered) scheduled next fall.
