The successor of the Ferrari 488 GTB is to be called the F8 Is. “F” for Ferrari and “8” for eight-cylinder engine. “Is” means tribute in Italian. If the overall shape of the car evokes the 488 GTB, the design is entirely new. The air outlet on the front cover, called the “S-Duct”, is a modified version of that adopted by the 488 Pista. Thanks to this system, the F8 Is increasing its aerodynamic load of 15 % compared to the 488 GTB.

The treatment of the rear is specific to the new berlinetta. The spoiler wraps around the round taillamps, which seem to have been borrowed from the 812 Superfast. These four fires mark in reality a return to the style of the early berlinettes of the prancing horse motor 8-cylinder engine, such as the 308 GTB of 1975. Another element that recalls the past of the brand: the slots of the rear window in Lexan evoke the legendary F40. The interior of the car boasts an updated stylistic level of the components of the dashboard, door panels and tunnel.
