The double staircase (enriched bougainvillea) and its entry way cabin opening out on to the sea are still there. But behind the facade, the hotel reserves nice surprises.
Acquired in 2013 by the LVMH group who knew how to masterfully make it a palace (the first outside of metropolitan France), the legendary hotel of the baie des Flamands, placed on one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, reveals a new chapter of its history, told by the three creators of international renown.
Side deco, Jacques Grange has created “a spirit seaside casual”, mixed and happy, with armchairs wicker dressed in ikat, rattan furniture, doors way mashrabiya, jars of Colombia, zelliges, larch wood milled, objects from Africa, Asia, Oceania… A caribbean atmosphere and serene floating in the house and 41 rooms suites and villas (and soon, 20 more with the redemption of the Taïwana neighbor), open on the sea or the tropical vegetation.

The gardens, subtly directed by the landscape star Madison Cox, is based loosely of the paintings of Rousseau. Its partition green and floral is composed of notes of colorful and fragrant. The fruit trees and lush flora, is épanchent with indolence. Butterflies flitter in a choreography that is unceasing.
Next to contemporary art, we looked forward to The Constellation of Pegasus, work mobile created specifically by Jean-Michel Othoniel, famous for its airy creations in glass beads. The sculptor has permeated the mythology of Pegasus, the white horse with wings, to bring a touch of dreams and poetry.
An ode to the art of entertaining
The hotel currently has two restaurants. Has the check Box of The Island, Yann Vinsot serves a cuisine “French Riviera” is more elaborate as gourmet (a term he rejects because it is too overused).
