The city of Lyon has presented this Tuesday morning his future international City of gastronomy, which will open in “late September, early October” in the case of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, which was completely renovated in the heart of the city. “This will be a place dedicated to eating well to live well and be in good health”, announced in front of the press the president of the metropolis of Lyon, David Kimelfeld, describing a space of exhibitions, entertainment, meetings, but also of culinary experiences.
laid out on four floors for a total surface of 4000 m2 in the older buildings of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, dating from the Sixteenth to the Eighteenth centuries, this city will offer a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, often of sensory and participatory. “The objective is to propose a vision of culinary culture, where excellence, diversity and accessibility are the watchwords for beating at the heart of the historic monument,” explains Régis Marcon, three-star chef associated with this project dedicated to addressing the gastronomy of tradition with innovation.
Grands chefs in “residence”
The course, open to the connoisseur as to the profane, will present different ways of looking at gastronomy in the world, but also a dive to the table of the great chefs who are emblematic of Lyon and exhibitions of rare objects, such as the legendary piano of a ton of fire Paul Bocuse.
