The question of the work is at the centre of everyone’s life, all the concerns and all of the debates also, the news proves it. The 80 very beautiful shots exposed along the rue Médicis (Life) want to show the involvement whole of each “Beings” in his professional life.
The association “Lights on the Work”, chaired by Sophie Prunier-Poulmaire, and the students of the Master’s 2 degree in Work Psychology and Ergonomics from the University of Paris Nanterre, which she directs, have been associated with the exposure. They have made use of renowned photographers (the agency Magnum Photos with Raymond Depardon, Ian Berry, Peter Marlowet and many others, but also independent photographers such as Jean-Michel Turpin and Jose Lozano). They pay homage to the anonymous workers of the world.
The trades are many around the world. Whether manual or intellectual, standing in nature or sitting in an open space, work is a source of social connection, of recognition, but the cause of suffering and stress. These “Beings at Work” the reveal with aesthetics.
Beings at Work. Gates of the Jardin du Luxembourg. Rue de Medici, (Life). Until 14 July 2019. Free access 24h/24, night lighting.
