We don’t have the desire to wring the neck of two giraffes… This hotel is very attractive, with one or two exceptions, a success. A beautiful address of charm, atypical, housed in a former furniture factory in the district of Saint Ambrose. A false air of industrial building, tiles of plaster in the floor of the lobby, canopy shop and the furniture is unusually beautiful, a nothing classic, with warm colours and material is velvet. This new facility, located at the bottom of a narrow street, almost an impasse, is a haven of peace spread over two small buildings separated by a garden. A small air campaign in Paris.
4/10 The situation
In the 11th arrondissement, quartier Saint-Ambroise, metro Parmentier, in a ten-minute walk from the Republic square. A little off-centre in a corner of Paris that is not the most glamorous but it has a charm of village.
8/10 the spirit of The place
Very parisian, but revisited in a chic design. Furniture exceptionally beautiful, a little classical, sofas, to the warm colors, the dominant of blue and yellow, give as soon as the front doors and a feeling of comfort. Real finds, such as this transparent bridge that leads from the lobby to the restaurant and allow us to discover a garden of artificial.
We also liked the lighting applied to the entrance of the restaurant, like a rain of led and the tip of the drops is light. The decorator Sandrine Legret, rather gifted, signs here his first hotel.
8/10 The rooms
The hotel has 34 rooms (including 4 family) of a good size and open for the most part on the courtyard garden which ensures a night without noise. Those on the ground floor and really give the impression of being quite outside of Paris, almost in vacation in the country. Ours, on the second floor no. 206, is very representative of the whole. Zen and very clear.
Side equipment: Nespresso, electric kettle, in-room safe and flat screen tv. The fixed desk, with her tray adjustable is a real find and offers a comfort without equal. Only one chair in the double room (if one is two the other must sit by the earth?) we did make one little regret. The head of the bed, leaning on a wall covered with a photo sepia is rather a good idea, as the soft lighting of a lamp nomadic suspended above the bed.
Next to bathroom, everything is in white tiles with a bathtub. Products Encoding distributors (Ecopump), half-empty. Pity that the upgrade will be passed to the as. Sliding doors in opaque glass, in the manner of those of the office of a foreman, underline skillfully the genealogy of the premises.
Christophe Bielsa 7/10 The service, equipment
here We are in a four-star hotels, so service side no red carpet but plenty of smiles in a home simple and efficient. We carry her suitcase and it was discovered that only his room. For us, it was with the director, but another customer arrived almost at the same time somehow, all alone. It was the eye…
in The basement is a real discovery, a small fitness area very well set up with machines 100% eco-wooden “water rover”. Well seen. A single cabin care allows to offer a massage on demand with therapists, in partnership with the brand Coding.
8/10 At the table and at the bar
From the lobby, one reaches the restaurant, Beslay, by a short transparent bridge suspended above a flat-band artificial. The room, where one takes also the breakfast, is warm and chiquissime with banquettes turquoise padded. The deco is superb and beautifully lit by a wall of leds. In the plate, cuisine bistronomique, cream of broccoli with carpaccio of wild sea bass. A service smooth, efficient, and smiling finishes make it particularly attractive this restaurant also open to non-guests who are not staying at the hotel. Around 40 € for the card.
At the bar, a cooler of wine automatically temperature recommended by the vineyard of a dozen different vintages, ideal for tasting (around 12 €).
6/10 The price-quality ratio
If the base price (minimum below which you cannot sleep here), announced € 150, appears to be quite reasonable, the rates in high season can reach 400 €, which is a little high given the area that is not the most fun of Paris.
