We were welcomed in this hotel in the heart of Tignes-Val Claret at 2100m altitude, for Igloo, a massive St. Bernard in quest of hugs and love. The tone of the place named “The Suites” is given. That of a family home and luxurious, the property of a sibling savoyard that brings together a unique sense of hospitality.
Situated in a chalet building, it is composed of only 33 suites are between 25 M2 and 75 M2 and a curiosity. The lobby is sober is extended by a bar to the irresistible comfort, a succession of small spaces, cocooning, well arranged in a mountain spirit. It opens through a bay window the pool area, which makes it rather a living and allows families to have an eye on the younger ones. The counter of the bar lining the bottom of the wide living room, and discovered on shelves floor to ceiling with an impressive collection of Grande Chartreuse, a bottle of any age and of any capacity. Unique in its kind. The rooms are on the top of the equipment: bath-tub balnéo XXL and shower cabin in each bathroom in marble. Storage possibilities infinite in large walk-in closets.

The room was divided into two spaces which form a unit, a seating area with a plush sofa and a side room. Set in a universe of wood quite dark. Only downside, the room lighting is of a rare complexity, there are buttons everywhere, and you don’t understand much of anything. An office equipped with taken in great number and fits into a small niche, no confidential space, adapted perfectly to its function.
If the hammam and the sauna are great however, we can regret a cloakroom reduced to its simplest expression and a single shower, which creates some traffic jams at busy times. The nice surprise of this hotel comes from its restaurant, the Ursus, which operates Clément Bouvier, the son of the house. A gourmet table decorated with 360 trunks of fir and larch, forest, imaginary, whose glades are hosting the tables. It’s like being in a Christmas tale….
