After a long period of uncertainty, Lanvin announces the January 21, via a press release, the name of its new artistic director.
Since the sudden departure of Alber Elbaz in 2015, the designers Bouchra Jarrar (2016-2017) and then Olivier Lapidus (July 2017 to march 2018) have succeeded without great success to pilot women’s collections. On the side of man, the things deteriorated in November last year with the thanks of Lucas Ossendrijver after fourteen years of good and loyal services. Already in November 2017, the claw was in a cash position that is critical to the point of alerting the tribunal of commerce of Paris. Meanwhile, the house has changed shareholder, with the arrival of the conglomerate chinese Fosun International, in February 2018.
For months, the new owners have sought the person providential. It is finally, Bruno Sialelli who joined the claw after having worked within the creative studios of many great names of luxury (including a Balenciaga that time Nicolas Ghesquière, Acne Studios, Paco Rabanne) and, more recently, after having worked as chief designer of the menswear line with Jonathan Anderson at Loewe. Moreover, while the rumor of his appointment circulating in the community since a few months, some wondered choosing a stylist especially experienced in the ready-to-wear masculine to resume the helm of Lanvin, the oldest couture house in paris, founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889.
