Eleven films were in competition for the 23rd edition of the International Film Festival of Adventure & Discovery that took place over four nights in Val d’isere. Thursday, during the evening organized by the writer and traveller, Sylvain Tesson as master of ceremony, the jury, chaired by the journalist and writer Elisabeth Quin has unveiled its winners with five awards.
The golden Eagle of the adventure, the reward is the most important, was awarded to French director Vincent Munier, and Laurent Joffrion to “Bear Simply Wild”. Their third collaboration, shot in the Cantabrian mountains, in the north of Spain, tells of a meeting with the bear of the cliffs, as well as other animals such as the gray wolf and the coal tit. The vision of the four protagonists – two naturalists asturian and two French – who live on the same territory as the bear emphasizes harmony with the natural world.
“Yesterday evening, the film “Bears, simply wild” was distinguished by the golden Eagle Festival Adventure and Discovery of Val d’isere. Thank you to the jury!”, said Friday on his account Facebook, the wildlife photographer French Vincent Munier. “The next screenings will be announced shortly”, he added.

The photographer and French writer recounts the story of his vision on a people in crisis, between hope and resilience of the two characters, Raj and Shiva, become the muleteers after the earthquake that hit the country in 2015, and caused the death of over 9000 people and more than 23,000 injured.

The 24th edition will take place from 20 to 24 April 2020 and will propose a new award, the literature prize of the Adventure & Discovery, always with Sylvain Tesson as master of ceremony.
